Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic psychotherapy integrates mind and body for healing.  There are many ways to work somatically and to help deepen your awareness and capacity for change.  Together we can discover the best modality to fit with your goals and intentions.  Some ways we can work somatically are:
  • Talk-based work, bringing in the awareness to your full capacity, coherence and experience
  • Touch-based therapeutic work.  Utilizing touch to help your system regulate, develop resources and greater capacity.  We will closely track and attune to your pace, comfort and boundaries..
  • Movement-based work:  Authentic Movement, Yoga

Somatic therapy can be very effective in working with trauma.  It allows for the development of greater regulation, as we titrate resourcing and the unwinding of past trauma.  Early trauma can sometimes be addressed more directly through touch modalities.  Working with trauma could include
  • Somatic Experiencing
  • Relational Somatic Healing
